New-fangled events

FIRST...Lately we've had some experiences that have warmed our hearts and made us feel grateful... Bitter sweet might be a good word for it. We were able to spend a wonderful weekend in Levan, Utah (Fact: Navel spelled back words- nicknamed as the bellybutton of Utah!) at an awesome family camp out with Josh's side of the family. They put a lot of effort and work into this and it was a blast. It was nice to get away and we had fun playing a huge baseball game, volleyball, badminton etcccc...Let's just say we came home exhausted! We were fed awesome meals and they even had a snow cone maker (I am obsessed with Snow shacks this year). One of the highlights of this little excursion was being able to hang out with the Crandall's who live in Arizona and little Urban and little Dallon, our nephews. They are amazing little guys and we have missed them ever since our return. Something that I've always recognized in my husband is his tenderness and sweetness towards little kids, especially his nephews. He loves them so much! He had an awesome time playing with them. We are so grateful for little kids and for our family! Thanks for the fun time everyone! Miss you Kaylene and Landon!

Second...we received a call from our 1st Counselor this week to come in and meet with him on Sunday. We knew and both felt that one of us would probably be getting a somewhat big calling, which meant we would have to leave our awesome 16 year old Sunday school class which we have loved so much. We have grown so close to them in the past few months and recognize that this calling was a huge blessing for us. We have been team teaching the New Testament, and talking about Christ each week with our class has been amazing. They are such bright, talented people and live a testimony based life. We will miss them so much, even their interesting comments and hearing about dances and boys etc! But of course we will look forward to seeing them every week at church.

Josh and I both received new callings which we are excited about. Josh is the new Teacher's Quorum Advisor, and I got put into the YW's as the 2nd Counselor...! I am very excited to keep working with the youth and have always felt like I would be able to ever since we moved into this ward. Funny how things come to pass... Girls camp is in a couple weeks also, I may be able to head up for a couple days but not all due to work. Josh and I feel like we were just in these programs ourselves so it will be a blast from the past!

We continue to be so grateful for everything we have and how the Lord blesses us so individually with the things we need.
